1. Booking confirmation
An enquiry is not a booking. Confirmation requires written acceptance by Kitebelles, agreement on the service/date/price and receipt of the advance payment. The advance is 30% of the booking price, quoted in euro and payable through the online payment link sent with the confirmation; the payment processor may collect the equivalent in Mauritian rupees. The date and method for the remaining balance are agreed in writing before the first session. The named participant may not transfer a booking without written approval.
2. Customer cancellation
A written cancellation received at least 30 calendar days before the first scheduled session is free of charge and everything paid is refunded. If the cancellation is received less than 30 calendar days before the first session, Kitebelles may retain from the advance only the reasonable loss the late cancellation actually caused, capped at 30% of the booking price; any excess, including an amount recovered by reselling the reserved slot, is refunded. No additional charge is due unless separately agreed services have already been supplied. A participant who does not arrive and does not cancel is treated as a late cancellation under the same cap. Send cancellation and change requests to the booking WhatsApp conversation or to hello@kitebelles.com; they take effect when received in a retrievable form and Kitebelles acknowledges receipt in writing. Any term applies subject to mandatory consumer rights. A request is effective when received through the stated booking contact, not when posted publicly or sent to an unmonitored account.
3. Refunds and rescheduling
Refunds are paid to the original payment method within 14 calendar days of Kitebelles acknowledging the cancellation. Rescheduling is agreed in writing and carries no fee when a new mutually acceptable date is found; we do not issue vouchers or credit notes in place of a refund, so nothing expires and there is nothing to transfer. Where a service has already been partly delivered, the lawful deduction and its calculation are explained to you in writing.
4. Weather, water and operational decisions
Wind, tide, swell, lightning, visibility, congestion and rescue capacity can make an activity unsuitable. Kitebelles may delay, move, shorten, change format or cancel for safety. Undelivered hours are first offered on a mutually acceptable alternative date; if no alternative can be agreed, the unused portion is refunded pro rata within 14 calendar days, with no cancellation fee. The instructor’s safety decision is final for that session; forecast information is not a guarantee.
5. Participant fitness and conduct
Participants must disclose relevant swimming ability, experience, injury, medication or condition through the designated private process, not the public form. Do not participate while impaired by alcohol, drugs, illness or exhaustion. Follow briefings, boundaries, right-of-way rules and equipment instructions. The instructor may stop participation presenting a safety risk.
6. Minors
A parent or legal guardian must make or approve the booking, provide required safety information, sign documents and remain contactable. Kitesurfing and wing lessons are available from 12 years old and 40 kg. Surf lessons are available from 8 years old in a private format with a dedicated coach. A minor is never left unsupervised on the water or on the beach, and the responsible adult must stay reachable by phone for the whole session.
7. Equipment, damage and rescue
Use assigned equipment only as instructed and report damage immediately. Ordinary wear is not participant damage. We take no security deposit. Rescue during your booked session is included at no extra charge. If equipment is lost, misused or damaged through negligence, you pay the actual cost of the repair or replacement, evidenced by the invoice; we do not apply a fixed penalty. No clause removes liability that law places on Kitebelles.
8. Assumption of risk and waiver
Kitesurfing, wing sports, boats, swimming and ocean travel involve inherent risks including changing wind/water, impact, entanglement, collision, marine life and remote rescue. Acknowledging inherent risk does not waive rights or liability that cannot legally be waived. Kitebelles may require a separate signed informed-consent and waiver document before participation; this web page alone is not that signature.
9. Insurance, belongings and third parties
Participants should hold travel and activity insurance appropriate to Mauritius, including medical treatment, evacuation and cancellation. Kitebelles does not provide accident, medical, evacuation or travel insurance for participants, and this page does not confirm any insurance cover. Arranging your own cover is your responsibility. Personal belongings remain the participant’s responsibility except where mandatory law provides otherwise. Accommodation, transfer and partner services may have separate terms.
10. Photos, complaints and emergencies
Promotional photo/video use requires a separate voluntary consent and is not a condition of service. Complaints: hello@kitebelles.com — we acknowledge within 5 business days and reply substantively within 30 days. In an emergency, follow staff instructions and contact Mauritius emergency services where appropriate. Provide an emergency contact through the private booking process.
